PRINCE2 is the world’s most popular project management methodology. By the start of 2016, more than 1.4 million people worldwide have obtained PRINCE2 certification.
We offer PRINCE2 certification at 2 levels:
PRINCE2 Foundation certification
You can obtain your PRINCE2 Foundation certification by taking any of the following PRINCE2 training methods:
- Attend a 3 day classroom weekday Foundation PRINCE2 training course
- Study using our online Foundation PRINCE2 course
Each of the 2 above training options come with a PRINCE2 Foundation exam. The syllabus for each study option is the same because the courses are accredited by PEOPLECERT. All our accredited PRINCE2 training courses must comply with the syllabus which is written by AXELOS, the owners of PRINCE2.
Who is this for?
This course is ideal if you’re new to project management and/or PRINCE2 and if you work on, or would like to begin working on projects.
By the end of one of our Foundation-level PRINCE2 training courses you’ll have gained an understanding of the PRINCE2 methodology, its terminology and how to act as an informed member of a project team which uses PRINCE2.
PRINCE2 Foundation exam
All of our Foundation-level PRINCE2 training courses comes with a 1 hour PRINCE2 Foundation exam. For students taking our Foundation PRINCE2 courses the pass rate for this exam is 99%. You’ll get your results straightaway after the exam.
Passing the PRINCE2 Foundation exam is a pre-requisite for obtaining the higher level Practitioner certification.

You can obtain your PRINCE2 Practitioner certification by any of the following PRINCE2 training options. If you already have your PRINCE2 Foundation certification:

Who is this for?
PRINCE2 Practitioner is highly sought after by employers when hiring project managers. PRINCE2 Practitioner certification builds upon the knowledge which you gained at Foundation level and shows that you are able to apply PRINCE2 on non-complex projects.
PRINCE2 Practitioner certification is a great career booster and is ideal if you’re taking on more project-based work, looking to find new skills to apply at work, or are looking to move into a project manager role. In fact, PRINCE2 is so popular amongst employers now, you’ll often see it required for many roles which aren’t even project management roles.
PRINCE2 Practitioner exam
At the end of your PRINCE2 Practitioner course you’ll take a 2.5 hour PRINCE2 Practitioner exam. For students taking our PRINCE2 training the pass rate for this exam is 83% which is 10% higher than average.
Registered PRINCE2 Practitioner status
After passing your PRINCE2 Practitioner exam, you’ll be able to call yourself a registered PRINCE2 Practitioner. This status lasts for 5 years. It means you can add this title onto your CV and business card. After 5 years however you cannot continue to do this.
After 5 years, if you want to continue to call yourself a Registered PRINCE2 Practitioner, you need to pass something called a PRINCE2 Re-registration exam. By passing the exam, you are able to call yourself a Registered PRINCE2 Practitioner for a further 5 years.
PRINCE2 Re-registration exam
You can prepare for this exam in one of 3 ways:
- Attend a 2 day classroom weekday Re-registration PRINCE2 training course
- Study using our online Re-registration PRINCE2 course
The exam is 1 hours long and our PRINCE2 Re-registration exam pass rate is exceedingly high at 97%.
The added benefit of passing the PRINCE2 Re-registration exam is that it shows employers that you have taken an active interest in keeping your knowledge up to date. PRINCE2 changes to reflect modern best practices in project management so you are showing them that you are up to date with the latest version.

For the online PRINCE2 Foundation course, the elearning has been designed to not need the official PRINCE2 manual. For the online Practitioner or Foundation & Practitioner courses it is recommended that you purchase a manual. You can do that when you purchase the elearning.
How long does it take to get my exam results?
It depends upon where you take your exam. If you take it online, you get your result almost immediately.
If you come to our examination room in Dubai your trainer will mark your PRINCE2 Foundation exams and will usually give you your score before you leave the class. For the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam, your paper will be electronically scanned to enable you to get your results the same-day.

Who is your online PRINCE2 training suitable for?
Many people choose to gain their PRINCE2 certification online because they are unable to attend a classroom course. Perhaps they live too far away to travel to the training room. Sometimes students are unable to take time off work to attend. These are some common reasons why people buy our elearning instead.
There are also some people who simply prefer to study at home in the comfort of their own home. They can study at their own pace and take the exam(s) when they are ready.
Does the course include exams?
Your PRINCE2 Foundation eLearning comes with the Foundation exam. Your Practitioner elearning comes with the Practitioner exam and the Re-registration elearning comes with your Re-registration exam. You can choose to take your exam within the period of validity of the elearning.
When will I get my certificate?
If you pass the PRINCE2 exam your certificate will be available for download about 3 working days from the date of your exam.
I have no experience of programme management. Is this course the right course for me?
Yes. The PRINCE2 Foundation course is the entry-level PRINCE2 qualification and PRINCE2 Practitioner is the higher-level qualification. We get a lot of students on both courses without any previous project management experience. Both courses will offer you a good understanding of PRINCE2. The Practitioner course, however, focuses more on applying the framework, and so is better if you are seeking a career move into project management.
Both qualifications look great on your CV and, especially in the UK, you’ll find these qualifications highly demanded by employers.
Are there any prerequisites for the course?
For the PRINCE2 Foundation course there are no prerequisites. If you want to sit the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam, then you must have already passed the Foundation exam. For the PRINCE2 Re-registration exam, you must already have previously passed the Practitioner exam.
How long does the qualification last?
PRINCE2 certificates never expire. However, you are only able to call yourself a registered PRINCE2 Practitioner for 5 years after taking (and passing) the Practitioner exam. After that period, if you want to continue to call yourself a registered PRINCE2 Practitioner, then you must sit a short Re-registration examination.
Will this qualification help me to get a job?
In many countries, especially in the UK and Europe, more and more employers are looking for candidates with PRINCE2 certification. Without certification, you’ll be at a disadvantage compared to candidates who have the certification.
Are there any example exam questions?
Yes – as part of your online course you will be given access to 2 full sample Foundation and 2 full sample Practitioner/Re-registration exam papers.
How well known is the PRINCE2 project management methodology?
PRINCE2 is extensively used in the UK both in the public and private sectors. It is also popular in other countries around the world, especially in Europe and Australia. PRINCE2 is growing fastest however in India.
What's the difference between the Foundation and Practitioner examinations?
Both exams are multiple choice exams. The Foundation exam lasts for 1 hour, and it tests candidates on the terminology and concepts of the PRINCE2 methodology. The Practitioner exam lasts for 2.5 hours, but has different styles of multiple choice question, and tests candidates on their ability to apply the method to a particular project scenario.
The format of the Re-registration exam is similar to the Practitioner exam, except it’s only 1 hours long, rather than 2.5 hours long.
How many people have taken examinations?
In total, more than 1.4 million examinations have been taken worldwide since 1996. Of these, almost half were taken in the UK.
Are the exams difficult?
The Foundation exam is more straightforward than the Practitioner exam. The latter requires you not only to understand the methodology, but also to apply it to a specific project scenario.
Thorough exam preparation is a crucial part of all our PRINCE2 training. Of the people who attend our online courses, 99% pass the Foundation exam and around 86% pass the Practitioner exam. 97% pass the Re-registration exams.

What are your PRINCE2 exam pass rates?
Since 2012, for students who attended our PRINCE2 online courses, the pass rate was more than 99%. For students who attended our Foundation & Practitioner courses, we achieved a pass rate of 86% in the Practitioner exams. This compares with a national average pass rate for all training providers of 73%. Our Re-registration exam students obtained a pass rate of 97%.
What type of projects can PRINCE2 be used on?
PRINCE2 is a generic framework so you can use it on any type of project.
Is PRINCE2 useful for charity sector employees, as well as those in the public/private sectors?
Yes - employees from many charity organizations attend PRINCE2 training, indicating that they use it for their projects. Don’t forget that PRINCE2 is a generic project management framework and as such, is appropriate for any kind of project, including those within charities.
How does PRINCE2 eLearning work?
You study online by completing each of the lessons. You can use a desktop computer. You also prepare for your PRINCE2 exams this way too. The full PRINCE2 syllabus is covered during the professionally-narrated training, and the official PRINCE2 sample exam questions are included in the exam preparation. You do not need to attend any classes. You study whenever you want.
How long does PRINCE2 eLearning take?
As a rough guide, these are the recommended times you need to spend to complete our eLearning. The times include both studying and exam preparation.
Foundation: 17 hours
Practitioner: 13 hours
Re-registration (including refreshing Foundation): 30 hours
Foundation & Practitioner: 35 hours
We understand that different people learn at different speeds; you may want to complete the home study within a couple of weeks or spread it out over several months instead. With 12 months’ access to the home study resources, you can take your time and don’t need to rush when studying.
How do I get help when studying PRINCE2 at home?
Our PRINCE2 online training gives you access to online help from our experienced PRINCE2 trainer. If you need help or have questions about PRINCE2, post a message in our discussion forum and the trainer will aim to respond within 24 hours. With this kind of trainer support, you should easily be able to solve any difficulties you may have when studying PRINCE2.
How do I take a PRINCE2 exam when studying at home?
After studying, if you want to take a PRINCE2 exam and you are based in Japan, you have the option of either doing the exams at our Dubai venue, or you can do the exams online at home with a web cam. For students abroad, you can do the exams online at home with the use of a web cam. If you take the PRINCE2 exam online, this uses virtual proctor software which you can easily download and install on your computer. You must book your exam in advance, but our training advisors can give you all the details.
Do I need any books when studying online?
You might wish to purchase the latest version of the PRINCE2 manual to support what you learn during your eLearning. The manual is not essential for the Foundation part, but we recommend it for the Practitioner level.
Please note that you can’t use the manual during the Foundation exam, but you can use it to help you during the Practitioner exam.
